DebConf is the annual Debian developers meeting, an event filled with discussions, workshops and coding parties – all of them highly technical in nature. DebConf15, the 16th Debian Conference, will be held from the 15th to the 22nd of August 2015 in Heidelberg, Germany.
As in previous years, DebConf15 features speakers from around the world, including engineers from Sipwise. Sipwise Sip:Provider (aka NGCP) is based on Debian and Michael Prokop, development engineer at Sipwise and Debian developer will give a talk about ‘Continuous Delivery of Debian packages‘. In this talk he will share our experiences with building Debian packages in continuous delivery environments. For example the OpenStack project jenkins-job-builder allows us to manage more than 800 Jenkins jobs through a few YAML configuration files without touching the Jenkins web interface. jenkins-debian-glue takes care of Debian package builds, building on top of Debian tools like cowbuilder, lintian, piuparts and autopkgtest. Code review using Gerrit as well as configuration management (Puppet + Ansible) helps us control our workflow and infrastructure.
In the jenkins-debian-glue BoF session several contributors to the jenkins-debian-glue project – including Michael Prokop and Victor Seva, software engineer at Sipwise – will meet to discuss issues for improvements, upcoming new features and get questions answered.
Hope to see you at DebConf15!
